Welcome to Bach Science Olympiad 2012, brought to you by the Bach Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).

About WESO at Bach
Washtenaw Elementary Science Olympiad (WESO) is an affiliate of Science Olympiad, a national, non-profit organization. Elementary school students meet throughout the year to learn about an event of their choosing. Some students will then compete against same-grade students from other elementary schools in their event at the WESO competition.

Bach runs WESO practices like a science club to make it cool and fun. Many children participate in event practices, but not all will compete in the WESO tournament. All children are encouraged to register, get a T-shirt and be part of the club. Bach Science Olympiad is designed to be as inclusive as possible and we hope to offer bilingual practices if we find volunteers. Bach tries to get as many children to the WESO competition as possible, but not all children will compete and we want that to be just fine. Competing is icing on an already delicious cake - good but not always necessary.

Registration Overview
Registration is simple and may be completed on-line or via a printable PDF that may be filled out and brought to school. Science Olympiad events are aimed at children in grades 2 through 5. If you have a child in first grade interested in attending practices for an event, please contact our Head Coordinator, Tammie Nahra (weso@bachpto.org) to discuss available opportunities.

To register, first review the events offered at Bach this year. Realize that many events are popular and fill quickly. Therefore, please consider a few events of interest, if possible. Please also note the target grade-level for each event.

Once you have selected events for your child, go to the registration page. Here, you may register your child, prioritize events, and request a t-shirt if your child needs one (WESO t-shirts are the same as last year). On the registration page, please also consider making a donation either on-line or by check to the Bach PTO to help defer Bach's Science Olympiad program expenses.
