Bach Walk-a-thon 2011

Q: What is the walk-a-thon?
A: Walk-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, where fitness is the theme. During walk-a-thon week, October 18-22nd 2011, students (with their adults if they wish) may elect to walk both during lunch hour (the lunch walk-a-thon) and on Saturday but only one set of laps will count for prizes. One lap is approximately one quarter mile and is walked around the big playground (lunch) or around the school (Saturday).

Q: What is the money used for?
A: The money raised is used to pay for field trips, theater productions, author talks, teacher supplies, and to sponsor more than ten family events each year. These programs would otherwise go unfunded.

Q: How do I sponsor my walker?
A: Students sign up sponsors on their walk-a-thon sheet provided prior to the event. Sponsors may donate an amount per lap or a flat fee. You may conveniently donate with credit card using Google checkout. Of course we also accept checks made out to Bach PTO.

Q: When do I turn in my sponsorship?
A: Please turn in your sponsorship no later than November 18, 2011

What is the Suggested Amount?

PTO encourages you to sponsor according to your budget, and we accept sponsorships of any amount.

For reference, in 2010-11 PTO spent over $25 per child on field trips, theater productions, and author talks.
